A Brief Overview of Our Mental Health Skill Development Services


Our Mental Health Skill-building Services (MHSB) program at Personal Solutions Counseling Services helps persons learn about their mental health conditions while retaining stability and independence in their homes and communities. If you or a loved one is suffering from a common diagnosis and behavior like Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar I or II, Schizophrenia, Anxiety, Poor ADL Management, Isolation, Poor Money Management, or Poor Medication Management, MHSS can help.

Who is elligible to receive Mental Health Skill Building Services?

To receive MHSB the individual must meet the following criteria for services:

 

  • The individual shall have one of the following as a primary Axis 1 DSM diagnosis:
  1. Schizophrenia or other psychotic disorder
  2. Major Depressive Disorder - Recurrent
  3. Bipolar l or Bipolar ll;
  4. Other diagnoses may qualify if documented by a physician that it produces functional limitations to daily life activities
  • ​The individual shall have a history of psychiatric hospitalization or crisis treatment
  • The individual must have a prescription for psychotropic, mood stabilizers, or antidepressant medications within 12 months prior to services
  • The individual shall require assistance with activities of daily living (ADL) in the least restrictive   environment
